Although it was Hades’ birthright (as Kronos ‘ firstborn son) to be named his father’s successor, he agreed to divide the Titan King’s former domain with his brothers. Poseidon is the son of Kronos, god of the seas, Zeus and, Hades brother Percys and Tysons father, and a character in the first film. They did this with the help of the Cyclopes, whom they freed, and made them weapons. Shortly thereafter, Hades had a private meeting with his younger brothers Poseidon and Zeus, and the three mighty sons of Kronos agreed to divide the world between themselves. Zeus then sliced Kronos into many, many pieces, and threw the pieces in Tartarus, the deepest, darkest part of the Underworld.Įventually, the gods defeated all of the Titans.

Zeus, the youngest brother, was hidden from Kronos, until the time came for him to free his siblings, as since they were immortal, they were alive in Kronos’ stomach! Zeus tricked Kronos into drinking poison, and Kronos puked all of his children out. Zeus Zeus is the 'Father of Gods and Men.' He ruled over Mount Olympus. Hades dwelled in the underworld, as opposed to all the other gods who dwelled on Mount Olympus. Kronos was afraid that his children might overthrow him, so he ate all of them… Or so he thought! Rhea had pitied Zeus, so she covered a rock in blankets and gave Kronos to eat instead. Hades was one of the oldest sons of Kronos, and is considered one of the Big Three, along with Zeus and Poseidon. Kronos eventually married his sister, Rhea, and Rhea gave birth to six children, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia.
